I honestly loved this book! Because of Liane, my children have been both identified with ASD...FINALLY we understand exactly what's going on with them! I never knew the little known symptoms such as "scripting" (which isn't little known in the ASD world, but it is in the NT world) and the "black and white thinking". We already knew they both had SPD, as do I, but had no idea they had ASD (but the signs were always there--but their pediatrician would not listen to me) until know. When I read about scripting, I googled it. This day was an especially hard day with my oldest son, who had been repeating movie lines ALL DAY and being really loud about it. But I found this website and this video that explained what echolalia (scripting) was and it was like BAM! That's what he had been doing all day! LOL FINALLY all the pieces fell into place and this led us to searching out more info and checking out books from the library on this subject. In one book there was a checklist, which I copied and filled out and brought to his psych and she agreed. This led to my youngest also being diagnosed, as well as my husband (who's sister has it blatantly) and myself. We all have different degrees of it, but nonetheless, it's there. It runs in both of our families, and it was passed on to our children.Thank you Liane, because of your book my family has a greater understanding of our issues and where they came from and now we can work on a better future, getting the help we need to help combat the accompanying OCD, anxiety, and anger/frustration issues. My husband and I can also be better parents to our two ASD teenagers, and that right there is probably the #1 reason I love this book. Thank you so very much for sharing your beautifully written story :)
