This book details the ILLEGAL theft and seizure of firearms from law abiding citizens of the New Orleans area after Katrina, as ordered by Ray Nagin and Eddie Compass.It also tells the story of law abiding gun owner banding together to protect their families, homes, and community.If you think the Second Amendment protects you, think again! When people like Nagin are in charge it is just a scrap of paper. Thank God the federal courts stepped in.As a member of law enforcement I realize, the New Orleans Police which were always corrupt were simply out of control. The decision to bring in law enforcement from all over the country was ill advised as they knew nothing of the lay out, the people, the law.But this started at the top with Gov. Blanco, then intensified with the corrupt Ray Nagin, to the stupid Eddie Compass. Apparently Nagin and Compass had no idea they were acting totally unlawfully. There was no "Martial Law" as the Supreme Court held in Ex parte Milligan, 71 U.S. 2 (1866) if the courts are open there cannot be martial law. On the state level, Louisiana has no provision for martial law, only a "state of emergency" which will get you a ticket of you are on public property I am shocked and ashamed by what happened. Everyone should read this book to see how far an out of control government can go---which is the very reason the Founders wrote the Second Amendment.I have praise for the writers for bringing this to our attention.
